THE TOOL NOTEBOOK
Read a tool set without double-counting
Count complete tools first
A double-ended handle is one physical tool even when it has two working tips. A set title may count pieces, styles or ends differently, so compare the named contents with the photograph and structured item fields. If a source disagrees with itself, keep the uncertain total out of the comparison rather than selecting the largest number. Staged pottery is an example, not an included project.
Identify what can be replaced
A spare blade, wire or tip is different from a ready-to-use cutter or handle. Check whether a replacement requires a particular holder and whether that holder is supplied. Shared brand names, similar shapes or a matching nominal dimension do not establish interchangeability. A kit with several replacements may serve a different purpose from a kit with several complete tools.
Choose profiles you will actually use
Compare the named cutting or shaping profiles rather than a headline piece count. Note the grip format, supplied ends and stated clay-work purpose, then read any limitations on the individual listing. Our bench list can group selections for shopping, but it does not prove that accessories fit each other. Confirm the current variation and package contents on Amazon before ordering.
