MudTools SSL Long Smooth Steel Rib

A CLOSER LOOK

Read the details.

MudTools identifies the selected SSL as a long stainless steel scraper rib with a smooth working edge. The title and main description both state a six-inch edge. That makes it a different choice from the toothed SSL versions in the same family: this selected listing is the smooth option, not a set containing every edge grade. Its long profile is described for broader clay surfaces and taller forms rather than the tight reach of a small kidney rib.

Compare the working edge with the scale and curvature of the forms you intend to assess. A long straight contact area and a compact curved profile answer different shopping needs, even when both tools are called ribs. Keep the SSL identity with the tool when organizing several steel scrapers, especially if the smooth and serrated versions are stored together. The source describes flexible metal, but does not provide a measured stiffness value that can be compared directly with polymer firmness grades.

References to other tooth patterns in the product family do not establish additional tools in this purchase. No tooth count is assigned to the smooth selected edge. Wear, pressure and finished-surface claims are not independent test results, and no universal suitability for every clay body or stage is promised. The product is a hand tool, not a machine accessory or a guaranteed process for obtaining a particular finish.
