The finishing role is documented for this exact version; color alone is not an absorbency standard across other products.
Nominal dimensions alone do not establish wheel, pin, insert or container fit.
A CLOSER LOOK
Read the details.
MudTools' White Finishing MudSponge is the selected fine-finishing version of the brand's shaped pottery sponge. The source describes a tight-cell construction and a kidney-rib outline for working close to a clay surface. It also describes a compressed pack that expands when first wetted. This selection contains one sponge, not all three colors in the product family or a complete assortment of sponge roles for the studio.
The finishing designation is supported by this exact listing rather than inferred from the white color. The seller describes lower absorbency than its general working versions, but no independent water-holding measurement or density test is supplied here. Length and width entries do not resolve the unusual structured thickness field or the compressed-versus-expanded state, so no full exact size is promoted. Environmental and biodegradable wording is not treated as an independently verified certification.
Choose this version when the documented finishing role is the one you want to compare. The claim that it preserves detail or avoids pulling grog is not a universal result for every clay body and handling method. Follow the current preparation and care guidance, then assess its contact on your own work. A shaped sponge assists surface work; it does not prescribe a moisture level or guarantee the finish of a completed ceramic piece.
